T4TWO is a work in progress begun in August 2009 by the Anjali Dancers, Resident Dance Artist Aya Kobayashi (Choreography) and Nicole Thomson (Artistic Director). It is part of a process of research and development funded By Arts Council England, South East through the Grants for the Arts Programme. In the next phase, the Company plan to develop the piece thematically, particularly the impact of science in the lives of people with disabilities through consultation with geneticist Dr Vicky Murday. Development work will also continue on performance elements such as the bouffon clowns and the AV projections integral to the piece. T4TWO was first seen in the UK at the decibel showcase at The Green Room in Manchester on September 15 2009.
A secret eugenic laboratory. An obsession with hygienic normality. Can you? Should you? Would you, seek to perfect life and purge the human gene pool of isolated, undesirable traits and characteristics? A minimum wage menial causes havoc with a misplaced plug. Observe through the lens of Anjali's microscope the resulting cocktail of humour, glamour and insolence, spiced with a drop of insanity.
Other Performances: Sep 12 & 13 2009 La Casa Encendida, Madrid, Spain. Sep 24 2009 at The Theatre, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. March 14 2010 at the Junction, Cambridge. March 19 2010 at The Mill Arts Centre.
